Scott # 287 issued in 1898. This is a mint never hinged 4 cent orange or deep orange stamp from the Trans-Mississippi series depicting an 'Indian Hunting Buffalo'. The centering is slightly off and there is some sulfurization which is common on this color from this era but the gum is pristine and it is otherwise a very good looking stamp.
